My name
is Travis Henson and I would like to welcome you. I offer full
service taxidermy in Southern Oregon on all big game, upland game birds,
waterfowl, and fish. I grew up
in Southern Oregon and ever since I can remember I have loved the outdoors. In 1999, I got
out of the U.S. Coast Guard and got my start in taxidermy. I was hired by the
Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division and this is where my adventure in
taxidermy began. As part of my
duties as a Fish and Wildlife Trooper, I was tasked with utilizing the
Wildlife Enforcement Decoy (Scruffy). It was here that I found a niche in
life. The decoys we had were in bad disrepair and after talking with a
local taxidermist in Coos Bay, I ordered some "How to Videos" and
completed my first life-size decoy. The decoy was
put in use and caught it's first violator the first time out. I was
hooked!! Since then, I
have had the pleasure and honor of working with two Master Taxidermists here in
the Rogue Valley who have taught me so much. I continue to advance at
every level and will be competing in the very near future. In April 2006, I
was invited by the Boone and Crockett Club to become an official
measurer. I was honored and now I am a certified measurer for the Boone
and Crockett Club, Pope and Young Club, and NW Big Game Records. I would like to
thank those that have guided me and for circumstances in my life that have led
me to this profession. I love every aspect of it!
